Why We Started
The idea for our company began with a personal journey. As a lifelong student-athlete, our founder experienced firsthand the challenges and triumphs of balancing academics, athletics, and personal growth.
In her work with students and athletes, she saw a recurring theme: individuals often faced struggles with confidence, mindset, resilience, and balancing responsibilities. While these skills were sometimes touched on in the classroom or during practices, they were rarely explored in a way that connected the dots between athletics, academics, and life. Many students and athletes were unaware of the transferable skills they were building, such as goal setting, problem-solving, and perseverance, or how these skills could shape their futures beyond the classroom or field.
Fueled by her passion for empowering young people, she set out to create a program that bridges this gap. Our mission became clear: to help students and athletes recognize, develop, and harness these crucial life skills. By focusing on confidence-building, mindset development, and overcoming challenges, we aim to equip them not only to excel as athletes but also to thrive in academics and life beyond.
Freer Mind was created on the belief that every individual deserves the confidence and tools to succeed, as well as people willing to support them through the ups and downs that are faced throughout.
Where We Are Headed
We aim to bridge this gap by creating an environment where individuals can actively explore and strengthen these vital skills. By fostering self-awareness and helping student-athletes recognize how these skills are built, we guide them in applying these lessons to their academic, athletic, and personal lives.
Our vision is to develop well-rounded individuals who are equipped to excel as leaders, teammates, and lifelong learners, both on and off the field. Through our programs, we’re not just shaping better student-athletes; we’re cultivating confident, resilient individuals prepared to overcome challenges and thrive in any path they choose.
As we grow, we are committed to expanding our reach, creating more opportunities for student-athletes to develop their full potential, and championing a new approach to holistic development that celebrates overall growth.
